THE STORY:

When I started working on this artwork, I thought I was creating two love-birds. However as I kept creating, I realised that the wings join together: parts of myself were coming together, after going to the depths and being reborn through fire. The old tale of the phoenix being birthed from the ashes felt true for me - the old and new coming together, enriched by the challenges and breadth of new knowing.
