Fave Podcast Recommendations for Sensitive, Late-Diagnosed Women
I LOVE listening to podcasts while I’m either driving, walking, making art, to delve into concepts I’m interested in and learn from people’s lived experience.
I’ve always been an avid learner, and with an interest-based brain, I also find podcasts really helpful to keep my busy mind happy, and help me with dopamine when I need to do tasks I don’t love! (like putting away the washing! 😫)
Here are some recommendations of some of my favourite podcast shows and episodes
Divergent Conversations - A podcast by Dr. Megan Neff and Patrick Casale who are neurodivergent therapists, talking together and with guests about their lived experices with ADHD & Autism, within a neurotypical world.
The Imperfects - An Australian podcast about mental health, shared with a lovely balance of humour and compassion. Features new guests each episode, as well as monthly session with their psychologist. Focussing on lived experience. Some of my fave episodes include: Maybe it’s Menopause? with Dr Louise Newson | Hannah Diviney – Disabled in an Able-Bodied World | Zoë Foster Blake – Zero Lucks Given
The Menstruality Podcast - Offers ways to reframe menstruality and menopause with insights into our unique pace, creativity and empowerment. Some fave episodes: Perimenopause - What’s Actually Going On? | Menopause as a Gateway to Magnificence
The Telepathy Tapes - A fascinating podcasts, exploring the profound abilities of autistic non-speakers who have long been misunderstood and underestimated
Remember Why You Are Here - by Asia Suler. A beautiful, soft, engaging podcast for sensitives and healers. Some fave episodes: It’s not about “what” you do | What it *Actually* Means to be Sensitive
Sarah Blondin - Sarah’s incredible spoken-word meditations come directly through her personal writing practice, brimming with profound, poetic connection to nature, spirituality and regulating/being, as a sensitive human. Her voice is just divine. I love every episode! I also subscribe to Sarah’s paid Substack newsletter.
Women & ADHD - This was the first podcast I listened to when I was late diagnosed with ADHD at 42. In each episode, Katy interviews a different woman on their story about living with and being diagnosed with ADHD.
This is not an exhaustive list, with millions of podcasts to choose from! Just a few faves I keep listening and coming back to.
