Please read below about working with me 👇

Who I work with

  • Creative, neurodivergent, sensitive children/teens: Together, we explore our strengths, emotional and nervous system processing, and sense of belonging through the arts

  • Later diagnosed women: Being later diagnosed may feel like a mix of celebration, alongside grieving for our life spent without the supports and understanding we really needed. Together, we’ll focus on self-discovery, neuro-affirming education, identifying our strengths, and processes to support our reframing

  • Health & wellbeing practitioners: Being a professional in high empathy roles can take its toll. Together, we’ll attune to your unique needs and capacity, while experiencing regenerative support and the latest research in neuro-affirming practice

What happens in an Art Therapy Session?

  • Your First Session

Our first session is about getting acquainted; with each other, your goals and creating with art materials.

We may ease in with a mindful art experience or a card prompt, to get into your creative flow and develop a rapport together.

At the right time and pace, I’ll offer you a choice of art mediums to help you explore your current inquiry, or you may have a particular medium in mind, like watercolours or clay.

So that you feel more relaxed and companioned in your art-making, I often create alongside you. Together as we create, I may offer curious questions, noticings and educational snippets about your unfolding experience, to help link your mind, hands and wellbeing together, developing your self-knowledge.

We may pendular between chatting or being silently immersed in creativity

At the end of the session, we will reflect on our creations to discover insights for growth and self-care.

  • Ongoing Sessions

Guided by the latest neuro-affirming research and your ongoing goals, we will explore a wide range of creative processes to explore your unique needs and discover/express the wisdom of your inner language.

Over time, we will practice a breadth of creative techniques and mediums to bolster your emotional regulation and authentic self-expression, and help you translate what’s in your heart and mind, into authentic imagery … gradually developing your inner resources to support your unique, neurodivergent landscape.

Over sessions, we may work on a different creative expression each time, or you may like to build upon previous artworks with alterations, layers and creative conversations.

We’ll pivot, pause, flow and anchor as we need to, and tweak your goals as you go and grow.

At all times, there is a focus on shared safety and trust, and a welcoming invitation to play and explore at a meaningful, unrushed pace.

🎨 Testimonials from my incredible clients 🫶🏾

  • A Safe Comfortable Environment

Savannah loves her time with Chrissy. She is able to express her creativity in a safe, comfortable environment. She loves trying a wide range of art styles and techniques we can’t do at home.

  • Always comes home happy

Chrissy’s art classes are a treat and I absolutely recommend them to everyone. My child has attended both group and private classes, and benefits from each.

In her teen’s classes, Chrissy creates a space that is calm and gentle and, at the same time, encourages playfulness and curiosity. It's a beautiful balance. My child is autistic and is sometimes really chatty and energetic, other times quiet. He really enjoys getting to set the pace with this in the private classes - sometimes meandering through conversation, other times creating in silence.

Chrissy is actively present, following his lead and respecting his personal space. He always comes home happy.

  • This isn't just art ... it's spiritual & emotional nourishment

A lot of the time I know what I want to achieve, but I can't get it down on paper. It's not knowing the little tips and tricks - that's where I find I get frustrated.

In Chrissy's classes there is so much space to get your creativity down, then gentle techniques to help you express what you want to express, without feeling frustrated. It's a really gentle, nurturing way she teaches.

This isn't just art ... It's spiritual and emotional nourishment.

  • She took all my rears away of being new to art.

I was instantly relieved when i met Chrissy and was welcomed through the door into her art class. it was a nurturing and supportive experience and I loved connecting with the other women.

I loved this event as it was small, intimate and extremely fun to hang with such a fabulous group of women and with the expert guidance of Chrissy, she took all my fears away of being new to art.

we are all creative, but we forget to play as adults, and get addicted to be being busy. Art is a process of letting go and not being a slave to your inner critic

Afterwards I felt relaxed, and instead of stressed I was calm and content and loved making some art in the process. it was a really beautiful way to de-stress at the end of the week.

  • Art is for everyone. Not just artists.

I was feeling a bit insecure before the workshop as making art isn't my usual territory. I absolutely enjoyed the process as I felt very supported with Chrissy.

The entire process was mindfully and consciously created for the benefit of all participants. Brilliant work.

Art is for everyone. Not just artists.
