Simple, Gorgeous Nature Eco-Prints

Eco-printing with nature is my latest creative obsession. I simply cannot get enough of how beautiful, unexpected and varied the results are each time I forage, and assemble a bundle bundle of plants and cook them up.

It feels like beautifully co-creating with nature. It’s an absolute joy.

There is so much I’ve learned since creating my first eco prints with Artist Kim Herringe back in November.

Through trial and error, online research and lots of playing, I’ve discovered which materials seem to work best and which I’m most aligned with ethically, using the native and garden plants in my area, on Gubbi Gubbi Country.

Here are a few of my recent favourite eco-prints.

Chrissy Foreman 2022. Eco prints on watercolour paper with hibiscus, onion, casuarina, bark and found leaves on Gubbi Gubbi Country. Boiled in tank water.

Chrissy Foreman (2022). Eco prints on watercolour paper with lemon-scented geranium, blue pea flower, eucalyptus leaves and dried organic hibiscus flowers

Chrissy Foreman (2022). Eco prints on watercolour paper with onion skins, eucalyptus leaves, blue pea flower and hibiscus flowers

Chrissy Foreman (2023). Eco prints on alum-soaked watercolour paper with eucalyptus, grevillea, chamomile flowers and wild flowers on Gubbi Gubbi Country

I’m building a lovely stash of eco-prints after the last couple of months experimenting, and I’m excited to see what continues to creatively unfold. Stay tuned!
