Hello beauties. This week I have felt like a far-stretched solo Mama.

As a result of social isolation, I’m now homeschooling my son, running my business and studying full time, all at once. My chest feels tight and my daily creative practices are literally what’s getting me through this time. I have to prioritise my wellbeing first, to keep everything else afloat.

So I’m spending time every morning for 30 minutes meditating and art journalling, then at the end of the day I set up my paints on my giant table downstairs, where I used to teach intuitive art classes, before all this onslaught occurred. And my creative times are just So. Freaking. Wonderful.

I’m painting BIG, on large sheets of cardboard with big thick brushes and moving my whole arm while I paint. And for this time, my heart softens and flows. Where I can, I involve my son in some creative time too. And I’m tweaking things to fit painting the feminine within my daily practice.

This week we recreated a famous artwork each (my son and I), as part of the Getty Museum’s social isolation art challenge (look it up, it’s cool). I chose Gustav Klimt as my fave artist. This gave me the idea of doing a series of large ‘painting the feminine artworks’, based on Gustav’s works. Because if anyone honours the feminine, it’s Gustav’s beautiful art. It makes me focus my mind and heart on loving painty energy. So needed right now.
