This March in my Art Studio ...

Hello Beautiful,

It’s been a busy start to Autumn here in the Artuition Art Studio, as I prepare for my upcoming Bush Portals exhibition on March 26th.

In case you missed your invite, it’s an exhibition of my ‘eco-prints’ created using plants and flowers I’ve foraged locally, and steamed onto watercolour paper to extract their colourful essence and forms.

The exhibition with coincide with the official opening of my new studio on Gubbi Gubbi / Ningy Ningy Country, in Clontarf, Queensland Australia.

Love to come along to the opening exhibition?

Speaking of the studio, I’ve begun inviting my private clients into the gorgeous, light-filled space for Art Therapy sessions. I’ve had wonderful feedback so far - our environment plays a huge role in supporting wellbeing, so I’ve taken great care to create a beautiful, love-filled and inspiring space for you to visit.

I will however be closing my books soon, as regular spaces are filling fast!

Love to learn more about Art Therapy and the way it can help bolster your wellbeing in gentle, creative ways? Pop over to my new Art Therapy page to discover more.

I’ve just received a new shipments of eco-friendly powdered paint pigments for my studio and upcoming art classes.

I’ve never had the patience to use oil paints before, but I decided to try the natural, powdered pigments with a simple walnut oil paint recipe (it’s literally walnut oil + pigment, mixed to your desired consistency!)

I really enjoyed the whole process of mixing the oil paints, exploring thickness and transparency, and reworking from of my older works on paper (above).

I’m transitioning my studio be be continually ever more eco-friendly, so these natural earth paints will make a great addition to my new artworks and classes with kids and adults.

If you’d like to have a go at making your own paints, you can forage for rocks and minerals to make local pigment colours like I did HERE, or check out the Natural Earth Paint website for a supplier near you.
