Intuitive Nature Artworks
Hello Intuitive Beauties.
When it comes to creativity, hands down my favourite inspiration is Mama Nature. To me, Nature is both inspiring and calming all in one. Her diversity, beauty and abundance never ceases to amaze and inspire me.
In recent times, I have reinvented a technique I originally learned in Art school back in the early 2000's, called 'blind contour drawing'. It involves looking carefully at an object and sketching it without looking at the page and I have tweaked it to incorporate layering and composing individual items from Nature that inspire me ... flowers ... leaves ... seed pods ... trees, roots, rainbows and mountains.
Outside of my sketch book, I'm always open to the awe that Nature displays for us in everyday Life. My camera roll on my phone is filled with snap shots of beautiful findings along my journey to drop my son off at school, trips to the beach, holidays away up the coast. Yet, there's also loads off inspiration right here at home ... even the succulents and hanging baskets on my front porch and in my back deck Art Studio are fair game!
Connecting with Nature is such an important part of being human. What we find beautiful, we conserve and nurture.
Making Art is a way of honouring something beautiful, both within and outside of ourselves. Whether I'm drawing from a photo or real-life, the natural essence that shines through from this process feels so beautiful, raw and vulnerable to me; just like emulating Nature Herself.
We are Her and She is Us.
That's why I've created a special Women's Intuitive Art Class to teach my fave Intuitive Nature processes from my homely studio next weekend. In this lesson, we will use our breath, our imagination and senses with pens and watercolours to create beautiful Intuitive Nature-based Artworks, without fear of making mistakes. This class is truly fun and achievable for all abilities.
