Low Hanging Fruit

This week I read a beautiful interview with one of my favourite Artists, Flora Bowley. In it, she shared a deliciously rich question ... "What feels like low hanging fruit to you right now — like what feels reeeeealy easy and doable without a lot of efforting?" - Flora Bowley

I love, love, love this. It's so easy to get caught up in what we think we should be doing, that we can miss out on so many opportunities to feel ease with what we already have. Maybe asking a simple question like "What feels like low hanging fruit for me today?" is enough to draw back into ourselves and realise it's okay to release striving.

Fruitful work in progress.

At the moment, my low hanging fruit is working on a combination of smaller, simpler expressive Artworks alongside one or two long-term paintings. The smaller works allow me to enjoy being playful, bold and loose with my expressions, and I can experience a feeling of satisfaction in just a couple of hours.

The larger works enable me to take my time, crystallise ideas, express deeper meaning and experience the satisfaction of a long-term goal coming to fruition. It's more like climbing a mountain, with highs and lows, challenges and successes, failures and breakthroughs. But once you reach the summit, the view is pretty spectacular.

For me, it's always been about finding balance. It feels awesome to enjoy things that bring instant satisfaction, but it's also resilience building to commence something I know I'm in for the long haul. At times in my Life I have tried to do it all, but right now, I'm just enjoying the low hanging fruits from both gardens, when the urge hits.

So it seems fitting that tonight as I sit here writing my thoughts, I am looking over at a painting I started last year, which is finally almost finished. She's taken many twists and turns, I've loved and loathed her and I've lost/found myself again and again in this painting. She has a couple of final tweaks left before she's completely done, but I really wanted to share her with you now. Meet 'Rising Phoenix'.

For me, making Art is a vehicle for understanding myself better. I learn something new through every single painting and there's nothing quite like creating something meaningful from within that has never existed before in all time. Feels pretty special.

If you're experiencing an inkling to learn how to paint more intuitively and expressively, my Expressive Painting E-Course is available for two more days at the earlybird price of $99 (offer expires 30th April). It's such a nourishing gift for self and I'd love to share my process with you, click HERE for more info.

All my Love and wishing you some juicy ripe fruits for your week ahead.

Love Chrissy x
