Repurposing Old Art in collages
Ever since making the decision to make art for me in a sketchbook rather than on canvas, I am feeling more freedom than ever in my creative process.
Art-making is never a waste of time.
As someone who never throws out old art, I’ve collected together all those artworks that didn’t quite cut the mustard, and put them into folders to draw inspiration from and rework. I love the sustainable nature of this art-making approach, it saves money and resources than buying new stuff.
Art as creative compost
The artworks in this post are all made using sketches from a life drawing evening a couple of years ago, over which I’ve glued remnants of magazine images and interesting pieces of other old artworks.
I love the feeling of repurposing things anew, bringing new life, creating new gardens from creative compost.
