New hand-painted tea cup and saucer ~ ‘My Love For You’

I initially thought my painted tea sets would just be something fun to do in decorative style. But of course, the happenings in my life have inevitably floated into these as well. It seems I can’t separate art from life – which to me, is a good thing!

Since baby Maxie came along, Hubby and I haven’t had a whole lot of time together like we used to, so I wanted to create something to show him I still care and love him as much as – and more ~ than before. So, I created this tea set, called ‘My Love For You’.

 

It's inspired by the feelings in my heart; the love I feel for my husband Jeff, even through the ups and down in life. The fine, hand-painted details I've added include tall, finger-shaped pillars which curve up and down and around the tea cup and saucer, resembling our ups and downs ~ but they're all part of the wholeness of our life together. The red and turquoise represent fiery love and soft, gentle peace in our partnership. The yellow ~ fun and good times ahead.
