Art Therapy Tutorial - Body Bliss Collage

Hello Beautiful!

This week I have a simple and inspiring art therapy tutorial to celebrate our body with collage.

You will need:

  • Magazine

  • Scissors

  • Glue

  • Paper

Creative process:

Step 1

Spend a few moments considering your body and all the ways it carries you throughout your days. What does your body thrive on? What places, spaces and experiences feel blissful for your body?

Step 2

Flick through magazines to find images that remind you of self-care and your body’s health and well-being. These could be images, places, words, nature, food etc. Listen to your body as you flip through - are there images that ‘speak’ to your body and feel good/exciting/kind?

Step 3

Cut and tear images and words from your magazine. Cut them into shapes, cut around the edges, snip out affirming words, tear around some images for texture. 6-10 is a good rough number of images.

Step 4

Start arranging your collage images on your paper. Move the images around, checking in with your body for spaces that feel ‘right’ for you. Consider overlapping images or having some images cropped off the edges, to bring some visual interested and movement to your collage.

Step 5

Once you’re happy with your imagery, glue down with a glue stick.

Step 6

Pop your collage in a frame as a reminder of nourishing ways to care for your body 💗
