Works in progress - Golden Trees
Ahhh, weekends. Such a lovely invention. It had been over a week since I last painted and I was feeling the pull. In my experience though, allowing time between painting is so often a good thing. New inspiration inevitably arrives when you're someone who paints about Life.
I had bought myself some red roses last week and so it's no surprise that I felt called to add them into my painting - even if our cats destroyed the real flowers. No matter, their Spirit lives on ...
Often random thoughts and memories run through my mind and become intuitions while I paint. Like the other day on the way to kindy, I showed my son a tree I loved because at this time of year, the seed pods look golden as they reflect the morning light.
As I recalled these golden leaves, I intuitively knew this was the pathway forward for this painting. Two nature-inspired Life-moments met and I felt wonderful as I connected them in paint ... Roses for Love and Golden Trees for Abundance.
I also have a thing for pink skies in my paintings at the moment (recent examples here, here and here), so a crimson sky went into the cooking pot too. I love utilising dripping techniques to create beautiful 'auras' ... which is only possible when you learn how to manage the flow just right. A bit like Life, I reckon.
I usually have a good handful of paintings going at once, which is another great tool for keeping inspired mojo flowing. While watching TV with Hubby last night, I began reworking a painting on board. More seed pods.
I've since added another collaged element (from an old chopped up painting) that looks a bit like a ginko leaf, but I don't have a clear direction for this one yet. So I will just continue to create with what intuitively feels right in the moment ... I'll let her unfold as she's ready.
I figure a flower won't bloom 'til it's ready, so there's no use forcing it. Nature has her own divine timing.
All my Love,
Chrissy x
