New painted object ~ Pretty leafy ceramic mini platter

This morning I went to one of my fave op-shops, to hunt for something pretty to paint on with my ceramic pens. I came across this lovely little leaf-shaped dishy-plattery thing. Before I got to it, it was pure white, with an embossed leaf vein along the centre, so I used that as the feature and worked from there.

Here's what I came up with ...

I enjoy the challenge of painting on ceramics ... it's quite a slippery surface so I have to be really careful and intentional with my markings. All it needs now is a bake in the oven and it's set like stone!

I'm thinking about getting some ceramic paints I can use with brushes next, to create some interesting layering techniques. Add it to my list of inspirational must-dos!
