Creative wellbeing journal - LOVE, unrestrained
A poem: ‘Love, unrestrained’
LOVE, UNRESTRAINED
A newness is growing inside me,
a depth I can no longer contain,
or restrain,
Nor do I want to.
I’m meeting the depths of my sea,
a brilliant chasm, held by the belly of the Earth,
brimming with truth, intimacy, presence, nuances of life.
Feeling a desire to know and be known,
fully, by those who embrace my all.
No longer can I swim only in the shallows,
alone and in fear of what’s below me, within or around me.
I dive deep, I twirl, I breathe through my gills, my tail glistens, I love,
as I embrace the inhaling of nourishment, of flourishment,
in the very waters that hold space for my life.
Everything’s changed for me now,
I can’t un-know who I am, who I choose to be,
nor who we all are, at our depths.
We are an alive, vulnerable, powerful, undeniable force,
rising to meet all of ourselves, all of life, all arms open to love.
Who comes to the edge to meet me here,
to swim in the depths of our truth?
The Earth’s waters will hold space for us here,
to grow, unfold, to love, be held and embraced.
We can help each other here, if we truly choose to be brave,
with our hearts.
Relationships like these take courage;
those swimming alongside us must be brave,
for we can do nothing less now, than to show up fully,
and demand of our lives, the richness of intimacy, presence,
and brilliant colours of truth,
in us and one another.
Right here, right now, we can choose.
You and I can meet at the heart, and give ourselves up to this moment, together,
knowing we are lovingly surrounded and generously held,
forevermore,
by the healing waters of life’s ultimate force,
Love, unrestrained.
