Super exciting fabric update ~ Cushions are almost here!
Today was one of those days you dream about for years. Quite literally. It’s been 9 years in the making since having my very first inkling about having my art translated into fabric goodies. Today was the day that I met with me sewer extraordinaire, Deb from Very Debra, in order to drop off my fabrics ready to be made into throw cushions! Hooraaaaay!
It was important to me to have my cushions made locally rather than outsourcing overseas. Deb runs her own sewing business from her gorgeous giant, purpose-built studio on the Northern edge of Brisbane. Oh, the envy!
I attended a sewing class with Deb a few months ago and her professionalism and attention to detail got me chatting with her about making cushions for me.
So this week I purchased some nice colourful zips to compliment my fabrics …
… Picked up my custom-made care wash labels for the cushion insides …
… Diligently pre-washed and ironed all my fabrics …
And now I sit and wait excitedly for the end product, ready to be showcased for the very first time at the upcoming BrisStyle Indie Designer’s Market on December 8th!
Oh and while we’re talking about markets, I’ve got a special little Christmas Market coming up next Friday night, if you’re in Brisbane, come along! Check out my Events tab for all the details.
In final fabric news, the lovely Sybella has begun making clutches using my fabric …
The very first one ever, pictured here, is mine, oh, mine! I’m expecting it in the post early next week. What a week of awesome manifesting!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
